This summer, Bathers Beachfront Restaurant reinvents its beachfront cuisine through a special collaboration with MAJO Tapas Paella Bar’s Executive Chef Salvador Benedicto to present a Mediterranean-inspired beachfront a la carte menu that’s laced with the bounty of both land and sea.
A native of Barcelona, Chef Benedicto was exposed to the culinary arts from a young age, helping his mother prepare traditional family fare in the kitchen. He then followed a long-cherished dream of a culinary career by studying at the Barcelona Hospitality Academy. He began his formal training by working his way up through some of Barcelona's leading restaurants and luxury hotels, including Stage at Saüc by Xavier Franco, La Plassohla Gastronomic & Tapas Bar in Hotel Ohla, and Mariscco Barcelona before arriving in Hong Kong in 2018.
Chef Benedicto has created a signature style that pays homage to his roots while employing the sophisticated techniques he learned as he developed his career. After a stint heading the culinary team at Cassio Spanish Bar, Chef Benedicto joined Woolly Pig Hong Kong to lead the kitchen of MAJO in 2023.
Bathers brings the ingredient-driven culinary innovation and laid-back ambience of beach culture to Lantau's Lower Cheung Sha Beach. The restaurant is dressed in muted grey and vibrant turquoise and caters to up to 120 diners. The space lends itself to any occasion, from family lunches and intimate evening dining to parties, celebrations, and even small-scale beachfront weddings, backdropped by the beauty of the South China Sea.
